5 Slovak universities in EUI alliances
Five Slovak universities are already involved in functional alliances. Alliances ENLIGHT with Comenius University in Bratislava, INVEST with Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra and ULYSSEUS with Technical University in Košice received renewed support. The new alliance, which was selected in a tough competition, is EULiST with Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava has become a regular partner institution in the FilmEU alliance. Slovak universities together with their partners offer students, among other things, joint study programs, innovative education including digitization, various forms of mobility and the opportunity to get to know other countries and people and to advance professionally.
Rudolf Kropil, SRC President, says: "The participation of a quarter of public universities confirms their quality, despite insufficient funding and the demanding processes that schools go through. I remind you that institutional accreditation is ongoing at all universities, internal processes and regulations were adjusted, and their employees also had to properly carry out their regular agenda, which is education, science and research, artistic activity, publication activity." SRC President adds: "Slovak students they do not have to travel abroad for attractive and high-quality studies, because Slovak universities offer them the same opportunities. However, what we need to make more attractive is the university infrastructure to serve students and employees."
The next call will be published by the European Commission in the fall of 2024. Slovak universities seeking to participate in the initiative still have a chance. The aim of the commission is to have 60 functional alliances with more than 500 universities in the EU.
