SRC is a member of the Permanent Conference of All-Societal Dialogue in the Slovak Republic
The representative of the Government of the Slovak Republic for social dialogue invited Slovak Rectors' Conference as a partner in the emerging commission to support social dialogue in the Slovak Republic and to sign the "Declaration on the development of social dialogue in the Slovak Republic". SRC Presidium unanimously supported the draft declaration and SRC President Vladimír Hiadlovský signed it at the Government Office of the Slovak Republic on August 22, 2024 (link). The declaration was signed by representatives of employers' unions and trade unions, the local government, the religious community and the academy, which was represented by SAS and SRC as representation of universities.
The first article of the declaration states: "The signatories of this declaration appear before the citizens of the Slovak Republic in the belief that the newly emerging platform for the development of a society-wide dialogue confirmed in this way will be an important element in the development of the Slovak Republic as a democratic and legal state, as an active member of the European Union and an active member of international structures in favor of the humane and peaceful development of human civilization."
SRC President perceives the membership of the SRC as an opportunity to build bridges between diverse spectrums of opinion in Slovak society, as well as a space where it will be possible to open up topics and agendas related to education, science, research, innovation and art and thus draw the attention of not only the Slovak government, but also partners on their fundamental importance for Slovakia. SRC will always support the values of freedom, democracy and human rights, which we respect and share in the interests of the progress of Slovak society.
