In Bratislava, ministers of education discussed the use of AI in education. During the High-level Summit on AI, senior government officials, representatives of global organizations, leaders of technology companies and leading experts supported dialogue and cooperation on the responsible use of AI in schools. The event was officially opened by the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini. Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, was the summit’s keynote speaker. The event concluded with the OECD Global Forum, which focused on transforming curricula in the age of AI. The event was also held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Slovakia’s accession to the OECD.
The President of the Slovak Rectors’ Conference, Vladimír Hiadlovský, commented on AI: “The rapid development of artificial intelligence is bringing fundamental changes in many areas, including education and research. Our universities are currently actively considering how to integrate new technologies into the academic environment. Our goal must be not only to prepare our students and teachers for a future that will be interconnected with AI, but also to ensure that AI is used responsibly, ethically, and in line with our core values.”
